What is Peak State?

Peak State is the state in which a person has power on demand, clear thinking, emotional sovereignty, effective language, and reliable results, all aligned with a goal they burn for. State competence is the ability to create this state consciously. That is exactly what LeaCo Academy trains: first in yourself, then in individuals, then in your organization.

LeaCo Academy is a provider of neuroscience-based leadership development headquartered in Solingen, Germany, founded by Henrik Mühlhans and Martina Grünewald-Ernst. It works with owner-entrepreneurs and CEOs of mid-sized companies along the Peak State System: Ignition Day, Peak State Practitioner, Master, Leader, Reset, and Apex. Behind the Academy stands LeaCo Lab as its research and implementation unit.

LeaCo Academy is for owner-entrepreneurs of growing mid-sized companies who are successful on the outside but sense that their company still depends too much on their personal energy, their decisions, and their constant intervention. It is equally suited to CEOs of privately held companies with genuine overall responsibility. They then go on to develop their key people (executive team, successors, division heads) in the Master and Leader.

The Peak State System has three stages with the same architecture and a shifting focus: Peak State Practitioner (Me: the Primal Force, self-leadership), Peak State Master (You: the Spark, developing one individual), and Peak State Leader (Us: the Force Field, leading teams and organizations). The Ignition Day is the four-hour entry point. Peak State Reset works outside the sequence on origin patterns. Peak State Apex is the exclusive one-on-one partnership over twelve months that integrates all stages.

Because you can only lead others as well as you lead yourself. The same critical conversation, the same address is devastating when delivered from a rushed, irritated state, and ignites when delivered from Peak State. It is not the tool that makes the difference, but the hand that holds it. That is why the Practitioner comes first: light your own torch first, then pass on the fire, then lead many torches into one shared fire.

LeaCo Academy’s work is based on a chain of reasoning from neuroscience: the brain creates the state, the state creates the behavior, the behavior creates the impact. Working on the impact without working on the state is treating the symptom. Co-founder Martina Grünewald-Ernst is a psychologist, neuroscientist (M.Sc.), and member of the Academy of Neuroscience, and brings more than 30 years of work with leaders and entrepreneurs.

Classic leadership trainings teach leadership from the outside in: methods, tools, conversation guides. LeaCo Academy insists on the opposite order: first the state, then the method, because methods without state are dead. You also never work on case studies, but always on your real entrepreneurial situation, with six months of guided implementation instead of a seminar that fizzles out in everyday life.

No. Peak State does not mean glossing over problems or always being in a good mood. It means staying emotionally capable of action and thinking and acting from a state that enables better decisions, especially in difficult situations. The basis is insights from neuroscience and psychology, not motivational slogans.

Then the question is not how many seminars you have attended, but: What has permanently changed in your thinking, your behavior, and your results as a result? Knowledge alone does not change behavior. That is why LeaCo Academy does not work with seminar days that fizzle out, but with six months of guided implementation on your real situation.

Because a vacation gives you distance. Real development changes how you lead your life and your company afterwards. We discuss the investment for Peak State Practitioner, Master, Leader, Reset, and Apex personally, because we first want to clarify which stage is the right lever for your situation. The Ignition Day takes place online. All open dates (Ignition Day, seminars, workshops) state whether they are held in English or in German. In-person days take place in Solingen, Germany, or at your company, and the implementation groups in between are virtual sessions.

The programs are led personally by Henrik Mühlhans and Martina Grünewald-Ernst. Henrik brings ten years of consulting and international build-up experience at EY and stands for structure and energy. Martina has worked with leaders and entrepreneurs for more than 30 years and stands for the neuroscientific foundation. You can find out more about both on the Academy page.
